About Me
(and what is the "PGC Mint"?)

Welcome to the Professionally Graded Comics Mint!

My name is Mark Wilson, and I offer a wide selection of CGC graded comic books with an emphasis on the highest possible grade.

Many of the books shown on my site are the highest existing grade, with almost all of them in the NM 9.2 or better range.

Why CGC?

One of the main reasons I opened this business is because of the CGC grading service. For the first time, there is a level playing field for EVERYONE. I find their grading to be objective, fair and unbiased. Their restoration check is very thorough and is worth the fee alone.

Collecting CGC graded books brings a great advantage to the collector or investor, in that the grade does NOT change when it is time to resell. That is a confidence never experienced in our hobby before, and is sure to bring in many more collectors.

With CGC grading, comic book collecting now has the potential to reach the lofty levels of professionally graded Coins, Currency, and Sports cards.

The tremendous eye appeeal of the high impact covers, popularity of characters, and larger size make CGC comic books an ideal choice for the investor who enjoys displaying their treasures.

About Me

Although the PGC MINT is new, I have been around a LONG time in the hobby. I started collecting in 1965 and became full time dealer in 1985. Over the years I made many friends in the hobby and eventually became a senior advisor to the Overstreet Price Guide and Grading Guide for several years running.

I devote part of my spare time to ministry as well. Specifically Prison ministry, as I find they have little hope. I also spend quite a bit of time in research. My main thrust is in extensive study of early church history, as well as working with adults. Yes, I am a Christian and am thankful for God's love towards me. I am no better than anyone else, just another sinner saved and upheld by the incredible gift of God.

Have no fear, I am not a bible thumpin hell fire preacher (God bless 'em) but I do believe in the Bible and in God's only Savior - The Lord Jesus Christ. I also have a deep concern for any who do not know Him but are searching for the truth. And that is where the long hours of study come in. When I say study, I mean that I study the foundation and earliest documents of all religious faiths, comparing them to the Christian Canon collection (known as the Bible). I have (and continue to) research each and every book accepted by Christianity, as to accuracy and authenticity of each text, including why it was accepted, by what group of leaders, and exactly when. Plus all other writings either rejected or forgotten and the reasons why.

Now, I realize that this will cost me several sales, as many of you have a bad taste in your mouth for Christians. I can accept and do understand that, as I know that I have let people down many times in my life. Christians do have a tendency to be self righteous, even appearing arrogant at times, while secretly doing the very things they condemn in others. Here is a little secret - being a Christian does not mean moral perfection, it means that you know you are morally bankrupt in comparison to the God of Heaven and trust His gift of forgiveness through His Son. Hey - there is more A LOT more, but that is for another time.

I will always be here should you want to know more. I have no desire to debate (it is not a contest) and quite frankly, do not have the time. Yet I can say with full confidence that I have studied quite thoroughly and am fully convinced that Jesus is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. There will come a time in your life where you will need to know the truth; it may be this year or next, but when you are ready, I will be here.

If you want to know more, please ask.

Dads, take the time to tell your children you love them. Yes, I know that provision of needs is a form of love (and does take great effort on your part) but kids just need to hear you say it.

Sincerely, Mark Wilson
